My daughter was admitted to Emergency medical assessment unit and then medical admission unit in St John’s hospital Livingston. My daughter has complex health care needs and admissions to hospital is always very daunting because of the level of her needs. The staff on both units were excellent, very attentive, practiced person centred approach to care and were very compassionate. I felt totally at ease and more importantly so did my daughter. The staff couldn’t do enough for me to take pressure off as I stayed overnight as my daughter has profound learning disabilities and I never leave her alone in hospital. From the little touch to what matters to me board and the very attentive care , they made the admission so much less stressful. As an NHS member of staff myself, it’s very easy to only hear the negatives, so I feel strongly that sharing good feedback and credit where it’s due is so important.
"Excellent and compassionate care"
