"Such good care here by every member of staff"

About: Paediatrics / Paediatric Assessment Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was admitted with Lymes disease after being on antibiotics and becoming very unwell with facial palsy and vomiting.

My son was made to feel informed, cared for and empowered by all of the staff on the unit. He says that they are very resourceful and that he has made decisions about his own body. He has had such good care here by every member of staff and his sister and I have felt comfortable while here with him.

We are very grateful to all the people involved on our journey.

Dear Frogman24,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are so sorry to hear that your son became so unwell with Lyme disease, but so incredibly glad to know that his time on the unit was positive and empowering for him.

It’s wonderful to hear that he felt informed, cared for, and able to make decisions about his own body — that’s exactly the kind of environment we strive to create. We are also pleased that you both felt comfortable and supported throughout your stay.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful team here on Paediatrics, I will make sure your feedback is shared with the whole team — they will love to know they made a difference during such a difficult time.

Wishing your son a smooth and full recovery.

Warm regards,
Angela Giles
