"Went above and beyond the call of duty"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23)

(as the patient),

I don't even know where to start. In my opinion the staff do not get enough recognition for everything they do. They are there on your good days and check on you on your low days when you didn't think you could do this. After my broken hip I was moved into ward 22 so many times I wanted to give up. I do not have a single bad word to say about any of the staff. Their care for all patients was 2nd to none. They went above and beyond the call of duty for my care.

Even when running a day shift being very short staffed and poor Ross somehow managed to make it work even when he was running between the wards. Also not forgetting Julie and Stepen.

I could name more staff but I don't want to miss anyone out but you should be proud of all your staff, always there if i need some reassurance.  When I wanted to give up when the pain was unbearable.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Thank you every single 1 of you for all the care, advice and support you gave me while in ward 22.

Dear Angyt87

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such moving and heartfelt feedback. We are truly humbled to read your words and to know that, during what must have been an incredibly difficult time for you, our staff on Ward 22 were able to provide the care, reassurance and support you needed.

It’s wonderful to hear that Ross, Julie, Stephen and the rest of the team went above and beyond for you, especially while managing the challenges of a busy ward. Your kind words will mean so much to them and to everyone on the team who strives to deliver the very best care, even on the toughest days.

We’re so pleased you felt supported and encouraged, and that the team could make a difference to you when things felt overwhelming. We will be sure to pass your thanks on to Ward 22 — they will be incredibly proud to know how much their efforts meant to you.

Wishing you all the best with your recovery.

Kind regards

Kevin
