"We were turned away"

About: General practices in Tayside

(as the patient),

I  am a pensioner and recently went to Broughty Ferry with my partner for a few days.  We needed a break as I am waiting on an operation for cancer of prostate. I have nephrostomy catheters on my back. One of them started to leak and we were advised to go to a local GP surgery where they have nurses who could probably help. We were turned away and told to go to A&E in Dundee. I am shocked.

Dear uniformwt66

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your visit to a General Practice (GP). Feedback is very valuable to all areas of the NHS, and I am sorry to hear that your experience there has not been positive. Unfortunately, GP practices are not part of Care Opinion at this time, as each GP Practice is an independent business. So that they can see your feedback, we would recommend that you feedback your experience directly to the practice to allow this to be passed on to the staff. The Practice Manager can give you details of how to provide this feedback to them, as per their Complaints and Feedback Policy.

Kind regards

Susan Anderson
