"Everyone was caring, helpful and professional"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Medical Day Unit

(as the patient),

I was in Wishaw General Hospital Day care unit for a broncoscopy.

I would like to thank all the staff for their help and Kindness.

I was treated with respect at all times.

The procedure did not take long and the sedation was greatly appreciated. I was well monitored in the recovery area and when I was due to be discharged my oxygen levels were below average.

The nurse called the Doctor, Andrew who came very quickly and assured me that he was not too concerned at the level and arranged for the discharge to be completed.

I do not remember the names of all the nurses. I think one was Eileen and there one was called Karen. Everyone was caring, helpful and professional at all times.

Thank you very much to all of them.

I had waited several months to see a Respiratory Consultant but it only took her two weeks to arrange this procedure.

Dear Lydia562,

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Medical Day Unit.

I am so pleased to hear that you were well looked after while in for your procedure and when you raised a concern about your oxygen level afterwards the doctor was quick to come and reassure you. I am also pleased to hear that following a wait to see the respiratory consultant, it didn't take long to arrange for the bronchoscopy to be done.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team who I am sure will get a real boost in hearing your feedback.

With warmest wishes,

Jenni

Update posted by Lydia562 (the patient)

Just like to point out despite the great experience on the ward to date, I have not had the results of the procedure which was over two weeks ago so I am a little disappointed.

However this does not take anything away from the great care I had on the day.
