We received a visit from Saba, a lovely Speech and Language Therapist. My husband has Parkinson's, and had been in hospital in March - they arranged the therapist's visit.
She came for four visits, from late July to early September.
We looked forward to seeing her - she is a real "people person", and her enthusiasm for her specialism was infectious. She gave information, tips and suggestions and demonstrated exercises with no hint of didacticism. We both felt encouraged and listened to.
We received a follow up letter outlining the exercises and progress made, with a gentle exhortation to continue practising.
As wife and carer, I felt included. My husband responded to her smiling interest in him and his progress. It was a pleasure to see her. We both appreciated her smiling, courteous manner, and the fact that she enjoys her work and takes a real pride in doing it well.
Thank you, Saba, :)
