I went into Branston clinic in order to get some more information on getting the copper coil fitted as I had been unable to get through to anyone via phone or online. I am moving to uni and had an appointment scheduled at my local gp however my gp has moved before I thought it was going to and so the appointment was cancelled.
When I arrived I was not greeted at the desk, instead I was stood around for a number of minutes before spotting one staff member sat further down the desk on the computer. I said excuse me and they rudely snapped her head round and said yes? and did not move any closer to the welcome desk, choosing to instead stay behind a wall leading me to practically yell all of my business to the entire clinic.
After explaining the situation, I felt very unwelcome and idiotic for even coming because I hadn't had a telephone appointment. I explained I leave for uni soon and they went on to tell me that I'd left it a bit late. When I reminded the member of staff that I had an appointment booked and that I haven't left it this late of my own accord, this was just brushed off not offering any kind of apology for ignoring of everything I had said only a few seconds before.
I was then told that all of the clinics that were on a whiteboard behind them operated on a telephone appointment basis and so there's "no point in bothering" with them and that coils are very popular hence the long wait times. I left the clinic on the verge of tears, feeling stupid, humiliated and hopeless and I just hope that nobody else experienced such a negative interaction with this staff member and that these are not the standards that have been set for their customer service skills. Thank you.
