We was referred to the continence team due to day time urgency and night time wetting and had an appointment relatively soon. The lady we saw was lovely, very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us good advice on how to try and tackle the day time urgency of needing the toilet and reduce night time wetting.
We’ve tried night time alarms, fluid charts, night time waking charts, done urine samples to test for vasopressin. I’m more knowledgeable around the amount of fluid intake a child should be having and limiting fluid intake past a certain time, regular consistent fluid intake during the day. I have also been given alot of useful information surrounding desmopressin to help with nightime wetting. Everything has been very useful, however hasn’t helped reduce the night time wetting. The underlying issue most likely due to it stemming from anxiety which we will look at tackling. We’ve had several telephone appointments following the face to faces ones and we have felt supported throughout our care with the team. Thankyou for your continued support and although the issue isn’t resolved I am grateful for the help and advice I have been provided with.
