"You did a great job"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5)

(as the patient),

Mid September.

I was an emergency admission, in pain and and confused and supposed a bit frightened.

I had never been in hospital before. I felt powerless, helpless as I suppose a lot of old folk do. Then I met with thoughtfulness and concern from all staff especially Lorraine, charge nurse in ARU4.

I felt compelled to write because of the way she provided care, really emphatic, she gave something of herself to her patients, thank you Lorraine, I hope receive my thoughts, you are a wonderful woman.

Thank to all the staff, you do a great job, we should appreciate you more.

Kind Regards

Dear Rutherglen

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your recent hospital admission. Being unwell, in pain, and facing your first stay in hospital can understandably be overwhelming — and we are truly sorry you had to go through that.

It means a great deal to hear that amidst such a difficult time, you were met with thoughtfulness, compassion, and kindness from our team, especially from Lorraine, Charge Nurse in ARU4. Your words about her empathic care and the way she gave of herself to support patients are deeply moving. We will ensure your heartfelt thanks are passed on to her — we know it will mean a lot.

We are also grateful for your recognition of the wider team. Every day, our staff aim to provide care with dignity and compassion, and your appreciation is a powerful reminder of how important that human connection is.

Thank you again for your kind words. We wish you continued strength and good health.

Kind regards

Kevin
