"Maternity care, labour and delivery + postnatal care"

About: Maternity care / Antenatal clinic Maternity care / Community Midwives Maternity care / Maternity Triage Maternity care / Maternity Ward Maternity care / Observation Led Unit

(as the patient),

I had a fantastic experience all the way from my very first maternity appointment to being discharged from the midwives. I was given exceptional care and always felt I was listened to and treated appropriately.

I loved having the consistency in my community midwife appointments 9 times out of 10 I seen the same one unless there was illness which obviously cannot be helped

My labour and delivery was such a smooth experience and I had a senior midwife, a student midwife and a med student in the room whilst it was happening.

My student midwife was an absolute delight she listened to everything I had to say and really made my labour an enjoyable experience! She truly went above and beyond to make sure I was okay and that my birthing partners were okay.

The med student helped in small ways but those small ways made a big difference.. he was helping me cool down by putting wet flannels on my forehead and the back of my neck and it made such a difference and really helped when it came to the pushing stage.

After leaving the hospital the visits from the midwives were great, any concerns I had we spoke about and I was very quickly reassured that everything was okay. I loved that they told me when they were coming and everyone of them spoke to my toddler and they were really patient with him.

Overall I had an absolutely amazing experience with my care and have no complaints whatsoever

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about your care, especially when you will be busy with your toddler and new baby.

We are absolutely delighted that we were able to provide you and your family with the highest standards of care. It is so reassuring to hear that you felt listened to throughout your journey, as this is so important to us all at NHS Fife.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your care before and after the birth too, and how important continuity of care was to your experience - this has allowed me to feedback to the community teams how appreciated their hard work is by the families we care for.

We will make sure that staff are aware of your feedback and I hope you are all enjoying time together as a new family with your baby.
