In July my dad was admitted into the coronary care unit in the Jubilee Hospital from crosshouse. From the moment he arrived in the unit the staff were incredible with him always chatting and just generally making sure he was okay.
There was a lovely nursing assistant who made my dad's day by giving him an ice pole, that’s all he spoke about how kind it was and how she was thinking about him.
There was also a lovely housekeeper who was a credit, making sure we were all okay and just chatting away to my dad as being miles away from home and not having family close by is hard. So a friendly face and a chat made his day made him feel less alone.
It’s hard to remember every nurse and or nursing assistant that cared for my dad as there were so many and each and every one is such a credit to the ward.
A thank you needs to be shared with a member of staff who was brought in from the Queen Elizabeth hospital to help put my dad on dialysis, my dad looked forward to his conversations with him and had nothing but great things to say.
Another thank you needs to be said to the cafeteria staff, nothing was a bother to them and every time we were in they always had a smile and were always chatting away and asking how your day was going etc.
Unfortunately my dad passed away. But I promised him as he himself had promised to write a thank you to each and every member of staff within that unit. Sorry it has taken this long to write it but it’s difficult to put into words how as a family we feel and have been feeling. From the bottom of all our hearts thank you your care and dedication was exceptional and we will forever be indebted to you all for making a very difficult and scary time easier for us all.
He was an incredible man and just thought the world of how he was looked after.
"The care and attention given to my dad"
