"Outstanding care at every point"

About: Redlands Primary Care Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Acute medical admissions (AMU) Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Cardiology South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

The care that I have received at every point in my recent episode of heart problems has been absolutely outstanding.

First, I must praise the local GP practice (Redlands, Crediton) where I was seen first thing on a Monday morning by a skilled, thorough paramedic, who checked me very carefully after noticing a problem with my heart at the weekend, and ordered an ECG on the next day.

I missed that appointment, because I was taken to Wonford by ambulance, when the situation worsened abruptly in the morning. The ambulance arrived only three minutes after my 999 call, and the paramedics had the situation under control in as much time again, thanks to their competence.

On admission to the ED, the care that I received from Dr Brown can once again only be described as outstanding, before sending me to the AMU, where I received more superb care from the team. Specifically, one nurse Gina and several colleagues (I did not see their names) rescued me instantly when I suffered a serious problem, which they resolved quickly.

For the following week, I received numerous tests, scans, and was continuously monitored.  When I think of the attention to every detail and the excellent level of care that I received, I feel quite emotional about it.  Everybody at every pay grade was brilliant; I feel sorry I cannot name and thank each one personally.  Their care really speeded my recovery.  Thank you very much to all.
