My son was scheduled to have a minor surgery, we were contacted a week before to arrange as they were running some extra surgery days to keep up with the backlog.
We arrived at Ward 20 in the morning and the nurses were nothing but fantastic. Eleanor was looking after my son before his procedure and a young nurse looked after him afterwards.
The theatre staff Sam & Pam who came to collect him, the recovery nurses and the staff in the anaesthetic room who made a terrifying time for my son (and me) a little bit more bearable. Dr Amjad was outstanding, explained everything perfectly, we knew he was in great hands in that theatre room!
The CSWs and Mary from the Play team were fantastic, without that play room the day would have been very different!
Even down to the domestic who helped source some different snacks when he was in a bit of a foul mood after the GA.
Thank you all so much, from a fellow healthcare worker & terrified mum. You are all an asset to the NHS ❤️
