"Severe stomach pain misdiagnosed by the hospital"

About: Grove Medical Centre Ipswich Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I had been to Ipswich hospital on Tuesday in severe tummy pain. They gave me anti sickness, paracetamol IV and scanned my hiatus hernia. All was OK.

I didn't sleep Tuesday night and finally called the doctors to ask for some pain relief at 12pm.

The doctor insisted on seeing me (despite surgery closing at lunchtime). He examined my tummy and sent me straight up to Ipswich hospital surgical department.  My goodness I'm glad he did! After an overnight stay, blood tests and scan the issue was found. A gall bladder infection and stones that will need to be removed.

Without the thoroughness of the GP I would still be treated for a hernia issue and so I am exceptionally grateful and thankful.
