"Care during my C-Section"

About: Maternity / Labour Ward / Delivery Suite Maternity / Maternity Ward The Ulster Hospital / Neonatal The Ulster Hospital / Theatres / Recovery

(as a service user),

I just want to say how positive my experience was during my elective c-section from the moment I arrived to being discharged a few days later. The nurses, midwives and medical staff were all so caring, attentive and professional, nothing was ever an issue and they always wanted to help from labour ward, to theatres and recovery to the maternity ward. My baby had to spend a few days up in the neonatal ward also and the staff up there were equally as fantastic, so caring and attentive to her needs as-well as mine post c section.

I want to mention a few names, the lovely midwife Reona who took great care of me in labour ward and recovery, the theatre/medical staff were amazing, such a lovely team and made me feel so reassured when my baby arrived and needed some extra help from paediatric doctors.  Amy, Nadine, Joanne, Paula, Jalina, Sarah up in the neonatal ward were so amazing looking after our baby girl so well and keeping me updated. Indiyah, Katie, Louise, Mariah, Hannah, Zara and Lara and all the staff in maternity ward, thank you for looking after me and my baby so well, you are all so lovely, and a credit to the profession of nursing and midwifery.

Good morning Septemberzx32

Thank you for taking the time to submit your Care Opinion and I am so glad you had such a positive experience during your C-section. It's quite daunting coming for a C-section and also the fact that your baby girl had to spend some time in the neonatal ward.

The teams at all stages of your care are so professional and I am delighted to be able to share your compliments with them.

I do hope you are enjoying motherhood and that your daughter is doing well.

Kind regards

Linda Gibson

Thank you for your kind words, I will be sure to share this information with the staff.

The Neonatal unit can be a very daunting place for families, so I am truly delighted you and your family had such a positive experience during your daughters stay with us.

I wish you all the best for the future with your baby girl.
