"Help and care for the elderly"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Patient care services

(as a relative),

My aunt has been housebound for the last 7 years with no mobility. Within the last few years she lost her husband, then her daughter.  Lately she has developed kidney and gall bladder issues and got an appointment for a scan. This was a massive event for her and made her so anxious.

It was Magherafelt Ambulance that provided the transport. It was a double lady team, with one called Cheryl [Maghera] and the other was from Londonderry, and they really did make a difference to my Aunt's experience.  They were a pleasure and we both would like to thank them immensely for their kindness.

Good afternoon Georgie6399,

I am grateful to you for taking the time to share your experiences of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. It was heartening to learn how Cheryl and her colleague made such a difference to your Aunt's experience with their kindness.

It means such a lot to our teams to hear that they have a made a difference to those they care for and I am sure they will be delighted to hear your lovely words. I would like to share your feedback with both clinicians who attended on the day and in order to locate them I would require the following information:

o Date and approximate time of the incident

o The address the ambulance was dispatched to

If you are happy to share this information, I can be contacted at:

Maggie.hamilton@nias.hscni.net

I hope your Aunt is recovering well.

Kind regards,

Maggie
