"I knew my partner was safe in their hands"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

I would like to give massive thanks and praise to the 4 paramedics who treated my unconscious partner at the scene and then transferred him to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

All members of staff were highly professional, knowledgeable, skilled and confident in their approach to care. In addition to treating my partner, they had to contend with a highly intoxicated friend who was being more of a hindrance than a help. The staff were kind but firm with him and efficiently managed the situation, for which I am eternally grateful.

The two crews came together and worked well as a team, utilising an evacuation chair that is rarely used to safely get my partner down two flights of steep and narrow stairs and into the ambulance. Such lovely people who made sure I was looked after too not just the patient. I knew my partner was safe in their hands without a doubt. I wish I could remember everyone's names to let everyone know how great you are. I hope you see this message.

Again thank you all for the amazing work you do.

Hi Tired nurse,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m really glad our crews were there for you and your partner when you needed them. It sounds like they handled a tough situation with skill and kindness and I’m pleased you felt supported too.

If you’d like us to pass your thanks to the teams, please email sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, date, time and address of the call out, and your Care Opinion username. That way, we can make sure your message reaches the right people.

Wishing your partner a smooth recovery.

Warm wishes,

Marie
