"Professional, understanding, and attentive"

About: Dementia and Older Persons Mental Health / Camel Memory Assessment Team

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My GP referred me to the Memory Assessment Clinic after conducting a memory check during my visit. The assessment lasted about two hours, and the nurse was very professional, understanding, and attentive. I had enough time to respond to the questions, but I scored quite low and was unable to answer many of them. Following the assessment, I underwent a head scan. I have since been diagnosed with dementia based on my low score and the results of the scan, which confirmed the diagnosis.
