My husband and I were on holiday, visiting family and friends in Scotland and England. Unfortunately, my husband broke his ankle down south and had surgery in England. We still wanted to see family and while in Perth, we attended A&E at Perth Royal Infirmary to obtain information about their fracture clinic. A nurse assisted us, giving instructions to go to the orthopaedics clinic the next day.
Every single staff member we encountered was polite, knowledgeable and offering help. My husband had his cast removed by an experienced nurse who also competed a wound check, an X-ray and then a moon boot applied. A consultant reviewed and gave instructions regarding travelling home and follow up. Another nurse provided instructions regarding wound care.
As a medical professional, I appreciated the hand hygiene and aseptic technique demonstrated by the team and the courtesy and friendliness extended to us. What a great culture. And the ward was spotless. An excellent experience.
"An excellent experience"
