My husband recently had bilateral cataract surgery under the care of Dr Miller and his team.
There are so many positives about his experience, from the efficient and joined up teamwork of our own Optometrist, the team at Falkirk Hospital and the Day Surgery at FVRH who worked together to get to the optimum time to operate without a dreadfully long waiting time. We were kept well informed throughout.
The actual operation at FVRH Ambulatory Unit was efficiency personified without any loss of care, compassion and understanding , I was looked after equally as well as my husband.
The operation on both eyes was quick and my husband said he was well looked after and kept informed about what was happening.
I have a sneaking feeling I will be experiencing this operation in the future and will not now be anxious.
There is just one small comment I would like to make. Would it be possible to advise patients to bring Polaroid sunglasses with them?
A new clear lens and massively dilated pupils meeting unusually bright sunshine on the exit bridge actually caused him pain . So much so he kept his eyes closed all the way to the car, where he fortunately had a pair .
Thank you to everyone for this positive experience and a renewal of clear vision.
"Efficient and joined up teamwork"
