My OGD/Gastroscopy at the
Day Procedure Unit
Mater Hospital
Belfast
Everyone was amazing. All the nurses and particularly Christine the after care nurse. Dr Spence was especially helpful and understanding.
My only complaint was parking issues. You cannot pay by card only cash - Really in this day and age. Please fix this madness.

Good afternoon
My name is Michelle O`Halloran and I am a Support Services Manager in Patient & Client Support Services with responsibility for carparking. Please accept my apologies for your recent carparking experience. The Trust was in the process of upgrading the Mater site pay stations to accept cash and cards when new legislation was passed. From May 2026, all hospital carparking will be free and the Trust will be removing the pay stations. It was not cost effective to change the pay stations as they will be obsolete in the near future. Patients and visitors will be informed of the new parking arrangements on our sites in the coming months.
