"an innovative, excellent service"

About: Neurological Rehabilitation Centre / Community

(as a service user),

I have been attending the MS group held at Church Hall in Mill East regularly for more than a year.  It is held twice a month.  The group is open to Barnet residents with MS and is run by the MS specialist nurse for Barnet.  She gets a wide variety of good speakers either neurologists, healthcare professionals or speakers relevant/helpful to people with MS.

Attendees are free to ask questions of the speakers so be aware of developments, receive helpful advice and current ways of thinking re MS.
There is regular access to the MS specialist nurse who is very dedicated.  She will speak to you privately if need be.
Also, during every session there are exercises held suitable for people with MS.  These are so important to help maintain what movement you have.  This is usually provided by a physio assistant.
MS can be a lonely and very disabling condition.  Both the specialist nurse and her assistant make a marked improvement in the physical and mental well being of the attendees, plus education of what help is out there.
The group is supported by friendly and kind volunteers from the Royal Free.  They make refreshments for everyone.
All in all I think this an innovative, excellent service that actually helps and reaches out to people with MS in a very efficient way.  This is so refreshing in a climate of service cuts.

Dear @orionqy39,

Thank you for your comments about the support you have received through attending the MS Coffee Morning in Barnet. It's great to hear that you have been able to attend the coffee morning regularly and you have found the sessions helpful. I will pass on your comments to our MS Nurse and the team involved in running the coffee morning.
