Having been diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s disease almost 10 years ago and undergoing two separate courses of chemotherapy during that period the symptoms reappeared earlier this year, 2025. Dr Brass of Oncology at Perth Royal infirmary was of the opinion that the small abdominal tumour revealed by this scan might be better suited to radiotherapy than chemotherapy and referred me to Ninewells radiotherapy Department.
I saw Dr Casasola in Dundee who explained my options and the pros and cons of radiotherapy. He was most helpful and reassuring and made the decision to go ahead with the treatment easy. This treatment started remarkably quickly and recently concluded.
It was an absolute pleasure to visit the radiotherapy department. There was a general air of cool calm efficiency and lots of smiling happy staff. Everyone from reception through to the machine operators made a remarkable effort to reassure the patients and progress their visits. Great efforts were made to keep waiting to a minimum and there were no delays of any consequence. Well done to everyone!!
