"only a phone call away"

About: Adult Disability Services / Acquired Brain Injury Rehab Team

(as a service user),

I have been involved with ABIRT  since my husband had a massive Stroke  in August 2016 and left suffering from Acute Aphasia and most recently after my husband collapsed at home in July this year suffering bleeds around his Brain.

All the staff we were in contact with have been very supportive especially Paddy the Speech Therapist which my husband really found he was extremely helpful and supportive.

I as his Carer was seen by psychologist Dr Rebecca who I found to be not only very supportive but empathetic too.

I am very thankful for the continued support available for my husband and I this is invaluable at this stage of our lives and it gives me great peace of mind to know these services are only a phone call away.

Thank-you for your comments which we have passed onto the team. We are focussed on providing holistic care to our service users and their family/support system as brain injury affects the wider family network as well as the person. We are glad that you found this useful.
