My daughter recently attended A&E and had a subsequent stay in CDU. I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the care we both received.
The triage nurse listened to my concerns and was very welcoming. A lovely student nurse took the time to explain each procedure to my daughter and allay her fears. We were then seen in a timely manner by a professional and caring doctor who referred us to stay overnight in CDU. Sorry I cant remember the staff members names.
On arrival to CDU we were made comfortable and offered tea and toast.
The next morning we were seen by Dr Forrest, from neurology, who was excellent. We were given an outpatient appointment to return for an EEG.
Angela and Brian, who carried out the EEG, were brilliant. They made us both feel so at ease and carried out the test with such professionalism whilst keeping my daughter calm the whole time. Dr Forrest then, very kindly, reviewed the findings there and then and spent time answering any questions I had.
We had such a positive experience from start to finish. Given this was obviously a worrying time for us, I am so grateful at how quickly everything was arranged and how we had a diagnosis within 5 weeks of our first presentation to A&E. We are very thankful for our NHS and all the staff we encountered during this time.
"Excellent care"
