"13 year old son breaking his arm"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Plaster Room

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son fell of an electric scooter 6 weeks ago and had a bad break to his arm. He was seen at the children’s hospital A&E and it was manipulated back and put in a cast. His wrist, and then hand, was very swollen so we had a few visits for the cast to be cut to allow fluid to escape and we had several X-rays

The plaster room, x Ray department, A&E and fracture clinic at the Queen Elizabeth Children’s Hospital have all been so supportive and we have felt in safe hands.

Today when his cast was removed we were told the alignment was “satisfactory” which they believe will mean it will grow to be aligned (all 🤞🤞🤞🤞)

Thank you

Dear J-1234,

Thank you for taking time to let us know about your positive experience of treatment and care at the Royal Hospital for Children. I'm pleased to learn that our staff were able to provide reassurance and make what must have been a very scary experience for you all a little less stressful. I hope your son is recovering well after his accident!

Best wishes,

Lisa Martin,

Patient Experience Public Involvement Manager.
