Mum was diagnosed with dementia just over 3 years ago through the memory clinic at Edenderry. Mum was assigned a Social Worker who is an absolute gem. The Social Worker arranged for mum to attend Edenderry Dementia Day Centre, which was initially for one day per week. Gradually it increased to 4 days per week. The day centre was a blessing to us and took a lot of pressure off both my husband and I. It would be even better if the centre was open on Bank holidays. The staff are very professional and show a lot of empathy to both client and carer. They are an amazing team. Truthfully we could not without them.
Mum has been discharged from the Memory Clinic which i am not happy about.
