"My papa . Shout out to all the nurses"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Elderly medicine

(as a relative),

My papa hasn’t been keeping well the past 18months. He's in his late 80 but still managed independently up until recently He got taken into the hospital and the care he received was brilliant, the only problem we had was at one point there was no bed space available in the wards and he was squeezed in at the bottom of a ward facing the bathroom and had no TV or space!

My papa wasn’t bothered by this at the time as he was very unwell. He spent 2 days in this space until a space was free. The nurses were all great they work so hard and never stop.

He spent 4 weeks in hospital. He needs a lot more help which he is finding difficult accepting. But we are helping keep him comfortable as possible. Thank you to all the nurses who helped look after him. He didn’t have a bad word to say about any of yous.

Dear Scottyboy,

Thanks for sharing your Papa's experience and I do hope he is continuing to feel better. I'm delighted to hear that he was happy with the care and treatment he received and I will share your lovely feedback with the team as its always an encouragement to receive feedback like yours.

I'm sorry to hear that your Papa spent some of his admission in a contingency bed, we are working hard to try and reduce their usage in our wards as its not the experience we strive to provide for our patients.

Kind regards

Ric Atalla, Operational Manager, Emergency Care & Inpatients
