My son had an incident a few weeks ago on his dirtbike. He fell off the bike and the exhaust landed on his leg. He didn’t have his biking gear on as it was a hot day and he decided not wear them. He had a 12cm burn on his leg. I wasn’t there when this happened as he was with his dad for the weekend. I got a call to say his leg was burnt and I was very worried. The incident happened on a Sunday evening. I done what I could at home (cool bath) (hydrogel and dressing applied) until we could get an appointment for the next day.
The nurses were brilliant with him as he is 11 and struggles with his adhd in busy places! The nurses were all amazing with him and myself and kept us at ease and told us everything they were doing. We got referred to the paediatric nurses and they were lovely! They came out every few days after school to check on him and redo his dressing. We have now been discharged from the service but can't thank them enough. Thank yous so much for all your help and support. I hope we don’t see you again anytime soon!
