"Voice Therapy post ICU/Medical coma"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist Services / Specialist Services Inpatients

(as a service user),

Sally has been treating me in an attempt to get my voice back following trauma to my vocal cords due to a lengthy intubation period.

She has been patient, kind and professional at all times; I need a strong voice for work /projecting to audiences so being unable to raise my voice to anything beyond a whisper is not great. With her help, I have seen great improvement and hopefully, if I continue to do the exercises she has given me and under her guidance, I'll be fully recovered in no time.  I am in great hands with Sally,  Thank you :)

Dear Liberatorwq54,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. I’m really pleased to hear that our Speech and Language Therapist, Sally, has supported you in your recovery — her kindness, professionalism, and dedication truly shine through in your words.

Regaining your voice after such a challenging period must have been incredibly important, especially given the demands of your work. It’s wonderful to hear that you’ve seen such positive progress and that Sally’s guidance has made a real difference. I have shared your kind words with her.

Wishing you continued success with your recovery. You’re clearly putting in the effort with your exercises, and I am sure your voice will continue to improve.
