I came in at 29 weeks start of labour absolutely terrified contractings were coming very quickly and close by. Magnesium was advised due to baby only being 29 weeks to give her brain a better chance. I was told straight up how horrible this drug was how it made you feel your body been struggling with the heat. I was terrified to say the least did not expect it started to panic thinking I was going to pass out.
The lovely Heather held my hand right through constantly speaking to me and reassuring me that she was still there I would be ok. Honestly I can’t put into words how terrified I was but something so simply as holding my hand and squeezing it though for the longest 5 min of my life was something I will never ever forget. I was so scared and I would have definitely passed out without the support from Heather and constant reassurance.
Something I will never forget for the rest of my life was how Heather made me feel safe during that horrible experience . She kept me going through this experience to help my baby experience coming into life I will forever be thankful.
I am absolutely terrified of needles, my veins are no good meaning I get jagged multiple times when I need blood taken making my fear for needles worse. The lovely Louise has a trick up her sleeve to help with the anxiety and to distract me from having jags were she had taken care of me. She used an ice pack to distract me from the needle and honestly as someone who will avoid all needle contact as possible because of the fear of multiple jagging she was amazing.
Made me feel so as ease and definitely done the trick with the ice pack distraction. Little things like this that really make scared patients like myself fell at ease and safe in their care as they are so caring and 100% want to help as much as possible. Forever thank you for the little trick seems small but not for me. Thank you, Louise.
