"Preventing a comfortable recovery at home"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Community Maternity Unit

(as other),

We were informed by staff that mother and baby would be discharged 24 hours after operation. 37 hours (and still going) later and they have still not been discharged. No issues at all, discharge speeches have been given. The hold up is simply that they haven't given discharge papers yet.

Apparently it being a weekend means there is only one doctor in - as though that matters to babies and maternity. Incredibly shoddy service from the NHS, wasting everyone's time and money and more importantly preventing a comfortable recovery at home.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the delay in discharge following the operation, and we understand how frustrating and distressing this must have been for the family involved. Please contact on the details below to discuss and allow us to investigate and create some changes.

Kind regards,
Laura Flynn
