I was told by someone who rang from the endoscopy dept. that a nurse would ring me on a Friday morning late August. When it was nearly and hour after the arranged time I phoned the hospital and was told it would be between then. In the end it was about 2 hours later when someone rang about my sigmoidoscopy for early September.
I asked them how I could manage to have low fibre diet for 5 days before the procedure. This was what the person who rang me had told me. I was told that this was wrong and applied to a colonoscopy which I was not having. I was also told not to eat nuts or seeds for 3 days before the procedure. This was also not necessary. I felt relived that I'd asked about the low fibre diet which turned out to be wrong.
