"Amazing Care"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / EOU Emergency Obstetric Unit Antrim Area Hospital / Ward C2 Maternity care

(as the patient),

We welcomed our little girl into the world in Antrim Hospital. I am so grateful for the compassionate care we received during our short time on C2 following our labour. I was readmitted 10 days later to C2 with postpartum infection and cannot praise the staff highly enough.

From my initial assessment with Hayley and Kelsey in EOU who worked with such empathy and professionalism to ensure all appropriate tests and investigations were completed in a timely and discreet manner; to the wonderful midwives Julia, Carley, Rhonda and Patricia who looked after me with such kindness and dignity throughout my time on the ward. Every staff encounter I had was so pleasant including the HCAs and domestic staff who were incredibly attentive.

Despite the evident pressure from staffing issues on the ward, the team maintained an incredibly positive environment and I cannot thank them all enough for the high standard of care they provided.

Dear Cmmk,

Firstly Congratulations on the birth of your little girl.

Thankyou for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback about your experience in Antrim maternity.

I am delighted to read that you felt supported and well cared for with kindness and dignity.

It is lovely to hear that your encounters with all our staff teams were positive. The staff will be so pleased to read this. I will ensure that your comments are shared with the wider team and also those staff who you have mentioned.

I am aware of the pressures and challenges for staff when the unit is busy. It is reassuring to hear that in spite of the busyness, the team maintain a positive, caring environment.

Thankyou once again for your feedback

Wishing you all the best with your new baby

Kind Regards

Louisa Lapworth
