I spent 5 months in the Stroke Unit in PRI. I would like to comment on the experience that I have had.
Most of my experiences have been with Kirsty from the Occupational Therapy team. I have also spent some time with Laura, which I have found similar in the care that they've shown me.
With Kirsty, down to the time when I made a coffee, and I made a comment to Kirsty that "I love you". This wasn't made as a flippant remark, it was made because of the full appreciation that I had for Kirsty after a matter of weeks during which my mood fluctuated. However, Kirsty's attitude towards me never changed. Which was annoying! She was always very professional, which was even more annoying but it was not lost on me the care that she had for one individual which I never had encountered before.
Although my time with Laura has been shorter, the attitude that she has, has reflected Kirsty's. Which was also annoying! Together, what they had to put up with with me is way above anything they should have to experience. Despite that, they have shown professionalism that goes above and beyond, that I will take with me to shape the attitude I will have long after I leave here.
Going forward, I can only express my deep gratitude for their understanding.
"Deep gratitude for their understanding"
