"Above and beyond what I anticipated"

About: ICST (Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) / ICST (Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) Clydesdale

(as the patient),

I had my regular visit from the district nurse today to assess and dress my foot ulcer and to check my stump following recent amputation of my left leg. Emma was knowledgeable, but more importantly, asked questions about how I was coping with everyday tasks such as washing, and preparing a meal. One of things I mentioned was that it was difficult to see into the wok when seated in the wheelchair, and Emma said she would see what help she could arrange. She returned later in the afternoon with a perch stool she had located, which made it far easier and safer for me to cook at the stove. She helped adjust it to a suitable height and this will enable me to return to doing more of the evening meals. This was above and beyond what I would have anticipated from a district nurse and I am extremely grateful for her care and consideration.
