"Videofluoroscopy"

About: Lauriston Building / Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Lauriston Building / X-Ray Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Speech and Language Therapy

(as the patient),

I had to have "spoonfuls" and "sips" of water then custard - both mixed with Barium. Then a bite of a digestive biscuit, dipped in Barium. Whilst doing this I was being x-rayed/videoed so that the SLT team could see how I swallowed and how it "flowed" down because I've had issues with my local cords (at the moment, they are only opening 20%).

The two SLTs and the radiographer were all so nice, making sure I was comfortable and knew what was expected, and explaining each step as it was about to happen.
