"I always felt I could ask anything"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

Everything was going smoothly with my pregnancy until I developed ICP. A few days before diagnosis I phoned maternity triage, as I knew something wasn't right. Every single person I came into contact within the unit was amazing, and their checks were always thorough.

I was apprehensive about what would happen next, and had bloods taken often. I was induced two weeks early.

Every single member of staff that I came into contact with at Queen Margaret were amazing. From phoning me with blood results, making appointments and having great communication and being caring.

As a first time mum it's an exciting time but understandably overwhelming. I would also like to thank Sammy, Danielle, Doreen and the two senior charge nurses they were all absolutely amazing during my induction and throughout the birth. Also the two student midwives and the other midwives who looked after us whilst we were there, and transferred to the maternity ward afterwards.

Also a big thank you to the lady who is a support worker, (sorry I cannot remember your name). But you were very caring and helped us bathe our baby girl/showing us how to do this before going home. You may think it's a small thing, but it wasn't and it meant a lot to us.

Unfortunately a few weeks later I developed an infection and had to be re admitted and have a re do of my episiotomy. Dr Green was amazing again with the midwives and I always felt I could ask anything and nothing was a problem.

I also work in the NHS and we should be proud of the care that members deliver. You are a great team and we'd all be lost without you. ❤️
