During July and August 2025 I had a chest infection, a UTI and 7 exacerbations of asthma. I received care from NHS 111, the Urgent Treatment Centre, the Ambulance Service, A&E and Market Street Health Group.
I want to highlight the care I received from Ruma the Clinical Pharmacist at Market Street. She undertook an asthma review with me and was very, very good. She was polite and helpful but she listened really carefully and thought carefully about her responses. She was very thorough, meticulous and double checked a couple of times with the on call doctor. Her guidance and changes to my medication made a substantial difference to my asthma management and to my mental wellbeing.
She then followed up with me a week later and has booked a further follow up.
Ruma’s standards of patient care and her communication skills are very high, she is extremely professional whilst being polite and kindly. I applaud her work ethic, her thoroughness and her skills base.
This feedback stands in the stead of a large (metaphorical) bouquet of flowers and a big ‘thank you’. At times, I felt passed from pillar to post within the NHS, (and I do understand how stretched resources are, having seen the challenges with my own eyes) but Ruma’s care was ‘gold standard’.
"Her care was 'gold standard'"
