A few months ago I experienced a piercing pain at the base of my second toe. At worst I could not bear bear weight on it and at best standing and walking were uncomfortable. For several weeks I hobbled about, taking painkillers and hoping that the pain would go away. After seeing my GP I made a self referral to NHS Fife podiatry.
I want to express my sincere thanks to the team at podiatry, and to Carolyn in particular. My feet, balance, gait and movement were examined carefully. I was given advice about appropriate shoes and issued inserts. I was given a series of foot exercises to do everyday. After a period of rest, two appointments and following all the advice carefully I am again walking without pain or discomfort.
This is really important to me, as I walk a number of miles for leisure. Walking is good for both physical and mental wellbeing and I had feared that I might not be able to enjoy it again. So, Thank You to NHS Fife podiatry.
