"Exceptional caring skills"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cardiac ITU (Intensive Therapy Unit) Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

After contacting the ambulance service, Rebecca and Valerie responded to my condition with skills of professional efficiency and compassion. I felt so well looked after as they assessed my condition. Their care was excellent, calm and reassuring to myself and my husband.

On arrival at ARI, the staff in the Cath Lab efficiently prepared me for Cardiac catheterisation. Dr Stewart skilfully assessed my condition and painstakingly inserted a stent into the blocked artery with amazing patience.

I was a patient in Ward 106A for 4days, the care and attention to detail with great communication was outstanding. The whole team involved in my care was of a very high standard of excellence . I felt safe, secure and comfortable in their exceptional caring skills.

Dear Topper

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your recent cardiac emergency. I see that your feedback relates to a number of services and I’m responding on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

It’s wonderful to hear that Rebecca and Valerie responded with such professionalism and compassion, helping you feel reassured and well cared for during a very difficult moment. Your description of their calm and efficient approach is a powerful reflection of the care we aim to provide.

I will make sure your kind words are shared with both Rebecca and Valerie and with their senior colleagues so they know the impact they had. If you’re happy to do so, please consider sending your name, the date and time of the call out and the address to sas.feedback@nhs.scot, along with your Care Opinion username. This will help us match your story with the crew and ensure it reaches them directly.

Thank you again for your generous feedback. Wishing you continued recovery and good health.

Warm wishes,
Marie Kennedy
