"Keeping my family up to date"

About: Princess of Wales Community Hospital / Cottage Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The staff are all very good on Cottage Ward. They are kind, thoughtful, I would say perfect.

I was confused about an injection, and after mentioning this to the physio, they followed up and found out the answers that the follow up is in 12 months. My daughter is very efficient and helped fill out the adaptations for your home form so we can go home as soon as possible.

My family know about the care and treatment and can ask staff questions. After being at another hospital, and my family not knowing about my treatments and next steps, they are very grateful that they can ask the lovely staff on Cottage Ward.

Thank you for your kind words. Staff thrive to keep patients up to date and answer any questions. If they are unable they will always seek advise to answer.

Staff are always available to speak with patients relatives and also encouraged to do also.

Therapy staff will ensure families are kept up to date with they rehab and families can call the ward for up dates regular and request meetings.

We have weekly MDT meetings to discuss each patient and there goals and ensuring patients are aware of the next steps to get them home safety with support and equipment if needed.
