"Thanks for a wonderful service"

About: Fife Community Services / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS) Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy Queen Margaret Hospital / Radiology

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was given a GP referral to the RCDS at Victoria Hospital and can't fault the service from the team.

Trish gave me an initial phone call and explained everything in detail and then Kyle gave me a follow up call. Both were professional and took time to answer my questions.

This made me feel very at ease and reassured I was in good hands.

The staff at Queen Margaret Hospital where I had a CT Scan and Endoscopy were equally brilliant. During the Endoscopy was so smooth I even feel asleep!

Thanks for a wonderful service.

Dear rcdsal199,

My name is Murdina MacDonald and I’m the Professional Lead Nurse for our RCDS service. Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s wonderful to hear how supported and reassured you felt throughout your journey.

I’m especially glad that Trish and Kyle were able to make those early conversations feel clear and calm for you. Taking the time to answer questions and explain things properly is so important, and it’s lovely to hear that it helped you feel at ease.

It’s also great to hear that your visit to Queen Margaret Hospital went so smoothly even drifting off during an endoscopy is quite the compliment to the team’s gentle approach!

We’re really proud of the service we’ve built, but it’s the people both staff and patients who make it special. Your kind words will mean a lot to everyone involved.

Wishing you all the very best with your ongoing health, and thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Warm wishes,

Murdina

Dear rcdsal199

Following on from Murdina's response to your feedback, I would also like to say thank you for sharing your kind words regarding your recent experience from the initial GP referral to visiting us here at the Regional Endoscopy Unit at QMH. Through working as a team we aim to make a patients journey as smooth as possible by explaining what is going to happen and offering reassurance at every stage. As the charge nurse in the endoscopy unit it was comforting to hear that you were so relaxed that you managed to sleep throughout the procedure. I hope you have recovered well. I will pass on to the staff in our department.

kind regards

Yvonne Bernard, Charge Nurse
