My whole experience was outstanding. In my experience, our NHS isn’t up to standard in many areas, but if patients use the correct routes and services it’s a lot easier for them and staff and my experience proves it.
From calling NHS 24, to getting an OOHs appointment within 2 hours to being sent to the QEUH. I had surgery that night at around 12:30am and returned home for 2:30pm. So basically within 24 hours I had all the care, medication, advice and treatment I needed.
I cannot fault the staff in Ward 9B including nurse Romy and also my surgical team which included the one and only Liam and his gang. They were outstanding and made me feel so at ease and the process of surgery not so scary including myself being a very difficult patient for getting a cannula inserted.
Our NHS faces challenges every day and isn’t how it used to be. However, I cannot fault the care I have received between NHS24, Out of Hours and QEUH. Huge shout out also to all the trainee nurses and health care support workers. Your dedication and kindness to show care and compassion towards us patients doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Ps Liam at surgery really needs a gold star on his greatix wall with his name on it if this could be arranged I’d really appreciate it?
