(as the patient),

After an uncomfortable night of intense lower abdomen pain, I resorted to calling NHS24.

Having waited a modest time I was able to explain my situation to an adviser/nurse who advised that I would hear from another nurse or a doctor.

I was directed to the out of hours facility in Lanarkshire in Hamilton. There I received a professional examination by Dr Coates who confirmed a diagnosis of diverticulitis and prescribed double antibiotics for a period of five days which cleared up the infection.

I am extremely grateful for the facility and for the expertise of Dr Coates.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post about the positive experience you had on Care Opinion when you were unwell and had to attend Primary Care Out of Hours service at Dougals Street, Hamilton.
