"Wonderful treatment"

About: Falmouth Community Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit MIU

(as the patient),

2 weeks ago I was bitten on the right forearm by a dog. ( it was no one’s fault and I didn’t pursue the matter further)

I could see it was a nasty wound and went straight to Falmouth MIU.

I was triaged and seen fairly soon, given a tetanus jab and very efficiently bandaged. The nurses were wonderful, kind and caring ,no rushing though the unit was pretty busy. Simon took care of my arm with advice also from Jayne. It was clear I was in a bit of shock and Jayne made me a cup of tea.

I returned 3 days later to have the dressing changed, again done with care by Simon. At my 3rd dressing change a different type of dressing was introduced- every detail was carefully explained.

Knowing I had to travel abroad soon Jayne arranged for me to return for a last change of dressing an to show me exactly how to do it myself.

I really could not recommend the unit and the team more highly.

Waiting times can be long but everyone is made to feel valued. I always felt every confidence in the staff members .
