About: Southend Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I recently spent 14 hours alone in A&E. I went there on the advice of my GP after getting the result of a blood test. It  was freezing cold. Then I was taken to the Cherry Tree ward.  Never have I felt so depressed in a hospital.  The lights were a dim yellow colour and I didn't know if it was night or day. It was also freezing cold. As a person that has severe depression it just made me wish I wasn't on this earth. I have no complaints about the staff, they were very good, but please if a new wing is built can people like me be considered. I  left feeling worse than when I went in.
