"Bloods taken and made to feel less anxious"

About: Banbridge / Treatment rooms

(as the patient),

I had an appointment with my treatment room nurse in Gilford Health Centre to get my bloods taken for diabetes check & kidney function.

I often feel under strain with pain, heat, burning & it causes me internal stress. Fiona our nurse is always friendly & you feel safe with her. I get anxious also.

We had a student nurse also today from Queens University today helping Fiona.

The student nurse took my bloods (no pain at all with the needle) & Fiona tested my urine & did the computer records.

For me, I feel comfortable & safe always going into our health centre in Gilford. Over time I have become familiar with the main staff & I find it makes me feel less anxious.

My appointment was on time & it didn't take all that long but it for me is in a safe environment. Fiona has a caring nature with I always appreciate & the student nurse was friendly also.

A good appointment.

Hi PSW28,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience in Gilford Treatment Room.

It is great to read that the care you receive makes you feel comfortable and safe.

I am also pleased to read that a student nurse was able to take your blood under Fiona's supervision, and that this did not cause you any pain.

Fiona has been recommended for a Greatix Award in recognition of your feedback.

Kind Regards

Mark
