"Staff were more than helpful"

About: Addiction services / The Asha Centre

(as a service user),

My recovery began in Asha, the minute I come through those doors the staff were more than helpful and put my nerves at ease. I was assigned a room and shown the rules/timetable for the coming week. I was extremely anxious and afraid of what I was doing then I was introduced to other patients on the ward then it all began.

There is a strict routine and structure which is important for recovery.

The staff in Asha deserve respect, they provide educational groups with great benefit. I will be sad to leave Asha my time here has been safe and happy, my recovery continues and I hope to do well and live a happy and clean life.

The only recommendation I would make is to change the butter...

Dear apussr54

I would like to personally thank you for your very kind Care Opinion submission. Please be assured that your kind comments have been passed on to the entire Asha team. It is very encouraging to hear that you benefited from our psychoeducational programme of activities on the ward. We endeavor to provide the best service possible in order to solidify your strengths and ability to continue your journey of recovery after leaving our programme.

I acknowledge your feedback pertaining to our meal choices, specifically the issue with our choice of butter/margarine. I just want to provide a quick update in relation to this. We have now escalated these concerns to our senior managers and I understand that they will consult on same. I will update you again when this issue has been resolved.

On behalf of the entire Asha team, I want to wish you all of the best on your future recovery journey.

Dear apusst54

I just wanted to provide you with a quick update regarding your justifiably critical feedback about the butter being used in Asha.

I am now pleased to tell you our kitchen has now sourced Irish butter again and this situation has improved. Again, I want to personally thank you for your feedback, which enables us to make such efforts towards improving the patient experience within Asha.
