About: Northern General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a service user),

Referred by consultant rheumatologist mid February to Orthopaedics Northern General hospital for ankle damage causing pain, difficulty walking, instability and falls. I have phoned orthopaedics repeatedly for an appointment. I was initially told there would be a 3/4 month wait. I finally had an appointment for early September, this was cancelled 5 days before the appointment. I am unable to rebook as it is not on the system to choose and book. 

I am desperate to be seen. My last fall has caused damage to my right shoulder.

We are really sorry to read about the long wait you are experiencing to be seen by the orthopaedics team, and especially the frustration of your appointment being cancelled and you not being able to get this rebooked.
